Homage paid to Dr Kalam

GUWAHATI, July 31 - The students and teachers of Xavier�s International School, Bogdo, on Thursday took out a procession to pay homage to former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, an official release from Aalo, Arunachal Pradesh, said. The rally, which started from Bogdo, wended through the streets of Aalo township with posters, banners and slogans before returning to the school. A prarthana sabha was later held and floral tributes were paid to the Missile Man of India. The students were exhorted to imbibe late Kalam�s four basic principles � setting goals, thinking positively, visualizing and believing.

Fire guts buildings: In a devastating fire that broke out at Bogdo around 11 pm on Wednesday, six shops, two houses and a government quarters were gutted, an official release from Aalo stated. A large number of properties are reported to have been destroyed in the fire. But no casualty has been reported so far.

The cause of the fire has not been ascertained as yet. The market and colony committee is working out the details of loss for submission to the West Siang district administration.
