HNA leader killed

IMPHAL, July 5 - Lalthangsang Hmar (54), founding president of Hmar National Army (HNA), a tribal armed group which is a signatory to the ongoing Suspension of Operation (SoO), was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Churachandpur early on Tuesday, sources said.

The incident took place in front of the HNA president�s residence at Hmar Veng under Churachandpur police station around 1.10 am today, police added.

His body has been sent to Churachandpur District hospital for autopsy. In July 2014, unknown gunmen had also shot Ningjamua (35), a leader of Zomi Revolutionary Army, another signatory of SoO.
