Guwahati, May 17: A ban on inter-district movement in Assam will come into force from May 21 next. Confirming this, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said today, "There will be a ban on inter-district movement from Friday. It is necessary to check the spread of COVID 19." The State government notification is already ready, he added. Director General of Police Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta also said the details will be notified shortly. A number of steps have been taken by the State government to contain COVID 19, including extended curfew hours and closing down of all educational institutions and offices.
