GUWAHATI, Aug 14 - Governor PB Acharya has expressed concern over the slow enrolment in the ongoing NRC updating process.

The Governor appealed to all Indian citizens to expedite and without fail complete the application process for NRC before the last date of August 31, an official release stated.

No Indian citizen will be left out of NRC for any reasons. All tea tribes, Bengali Hindu refugees, orphanage inhabitants, jailed prisoners, Indians from neighbouring States, especially from Tripura, Indians from other States of our mainland who have migrated to Assam by marriage, jobs, business, etc., are eligible to enter NRC as per the Supreme Court judgment, he said.

In the recent past, the

Governor had called Pratik Hajela, State Coordinator, NRC, Assam, and discussed the issue.

The Governor strictly ordered that no foreigners should be allowed to get into NRC, either because of corrupt officials giving false birth certificates or by any fraud, the release added.
