KOKRAJHAR, March 10 - The NDFB (Progressive) faction led by Gobinda Basumatary was disbanded today.

This was announced during a special general assembly of the NDFB (Progressive) faction, which was held today at the Kumguri designated camp, Serfanguri in Kokrajhar district.

A joint statement signed by B Swmkhwr, NDFB president and S Sanjarang, general secretary of NDFB (P), stated that as the organisation has been able to resolve the Bodo peoples political, social, economic and cultural problems by signing the MoS, the leadership does not feel the necessity of continuance of armed struggle which looks odd and unbecoming in a democratic country like India.

The leadership by a unanimous resolution adopted in a special general assembly hereby declared that the existence of the organisation shall cease for good, added the statement.
