France minister to visit Assam

NEW DELHI, Jan 28: The Minister for Ecological Transition of France, Barbara Pompili, who will be in India on a five-day visit to deepen Indo-French cooperation on sustainable development, will visit Kaziranga National Park and IIT Guwahati.

The minister will visit Kaziranga to oversee the Assam Project on Forest and Biodiversity Conservation that has been provided financial and technical assistance by the French Development Agency.

At IIT Guwahati, the minister will interact with researchers of the Centre of Excellence – Sustainable Polymers, credited with having developed India’s first biodegradable plastic, sources said.
