DHEMAJI, Jan 5: The Dhemaji district animal husbandry and veterinary department distributed fowl chicks of an improved variety among the women beneficiaries under the National Livestock Mission in a programme organized at Gogamukh on Sunday. Local MLA Ranoj Pegu and veterinary officials of the district attended the programme, where altogether 68 beneficiaries were given chicks, feed and feeding assets. The MLA and officials suggested to the beneficiaries to adopt animal farming as a source of income to boost their household economy. – Correspondent
