GUWAHATI, March 27 � Ranjeet Kumar Deka, the independent candidate from West Guwahati constituency, today lodged a FIR with the Latasil Police Station alleging that Indian National Congress candidate from the same constituency Hemanta Talukdar has threatened him of dire consequences over phone if the former does not withdraw his nomination.
Deka has asked for security cover after the incident.
He has also reported the matter to the SSP (City) and the Chief Electoral Officer.
