JONAI, March 6 - All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and other Bodo organizations have demanded the State government to include Bodo language in the Diploma in Elementary Education (DELEd) curriculum.

Several hundreds of Bodo people including members of ABSU, United Bodo Peoples Forum (UBPO), All Bodo Mohila Kalyan Parishad took out a torch rally in and around Jonai town in Dhemaji district last evening, shouted slogans in support of their demand.

The ABSU leaders lamented that the State government is yet to include Bodo language in the diploma courses thereby showing disrespect to their language, which has been accorded due recognition of a modern Indian language under the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India
