Cotton varsity shines at Punjab youth festival

GUWAHATI, Feb 13 - A group of Cotton University (CU) students participated and won a number of prizes including first prize in the prestigious cultural procession competition at the recently-concluded 34th National Inter-University Youth Festival held at Chandigarh University, Punjab, said a press release here.

The 27-member CU contingent was led by Muktikam Hazarika, faculty with the Department of Mass Communication, Journalism and Media Studies.

The other prizes bagged by the CU team at the youth festival included third prize in folk dance competition and fourth prize in folk orchestra and western instrumental solo competitions.

More than 100 universities from across India participated in the youth festival supported by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Delhi, the release added.
