City murder accused gets bail

GUWAHATI, Feb 1 � Ranjit Das, the man who beheaded his wife and later surrendered before Dispur police around three months back, is likely to get out of the Guwahati Central Jail on February 4.

Das was granted bail by the Court of Judicial Magistrate, Kamrup, on January 7 against two sureties of Rs 15,000 each.

�As the investigating officer failed to submit the chargesheet within 90 days of mandatory detention, the Court had granted bail to Das,� advocate Imdadur Rahman, who appeared on behalf of Das, told this reporter.

Rahman further said that Das�s release could not be facilitated till date owing to some personal problems of the accused.
