GUWAHATI, July 25 - Bampathar Begnabari HS of Charaideo has qualified to represent Assam in the U-17 Subroto Cup Football Tournament to be played in New Delhi.
In the final of the 70th Dewkon Memorial Inter District School Football Tournament at the SAI ground here today, the Charaideo boys edged past Dubhulia HS of Dibrugarh 2-1.
Hontu Gowala netted both the goals for the winning team while Krishna Rojak reduced the margin for Dibrugarh.
Hontu walked away with the best player trophy while Shiva Tanti of Charaideo was presented the best emerging player trophy.
In the closing function, Sanjib Gohain Baruah, Secretary to the Governor of Assam, handed over the champions trophy to the Charaido team while Dr Bhabesh Ch Goswami, Vice Chancellor of Cotton University gave away the runners-up trophy.
The tournament was organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare.
