Centre urged to set up college in Garo Hills

SHILLONG, Dec 20 - A conglomeration of NGOs has sought the intervention of the Central government for setting up an entrepreneurship college in Meghalaya�s Garo Hills, an area plagued by militancy.

A joint memorandum in this regard was submitted by a delegation of five NGOs, including GSU, FKJGP, FAF, AYWO and ADE, to Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of State (independent charge) for Entrepreneurship, Youth Affairs and Sports, in a meeting held in New Delhi recently.

�We request the Central government to help the indigenous people of Garo Hills by introducing the idea of nurturing future entrepreneurs by setting up an entrepreneur college,� the joint memorandum said.

The Union Minister assured the delegation that the matter would be looked into at the earliest, members of the delegation stated.
