Cash looted, robber held in Lakhimpur

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, May 22 - Two motorcycle- borne robbers snatched away cash amounting to Rs 2.20 lakh from a woman in front of the State Bank of India�s North Lakhimpur branch on Tuesday.

Malini Kakoty, the victim, was intercepted by the youths in front of the bank branch and thereafter they snatched away the money from her. In another development, Rs 20,000 in cash and an ATM card were looted from a woman near North Lakhimpur Treasury Office on the same day.

The robber was chased away by some bystanders and he was caught in the Old RMS Road. The robber has been identified as Rantu Dutta of Rangajan, Lakhimpur.
