NAGAON, Nov 20 - A case of sexual harassment against Union Minister Rajen Gohain, which was withdrawn by the victim, following a compromise, has been decreed by the CJM Court here as not closed.
A woman of Deurigaon, Nagaon a few months back had lodged a complaint against Gohain alleging sexual harassment. A case was registered at Nagaon Sadar PS (no 2592/18). Today, the Nagaon Police submitted a report in the court of CJM that the case was compromised between the Minister Gohain and the complainant.
But CJM Sangita Gogoi was not convinced with the Police report and has ordered to proceed with the complaint. The case will proceed u/s 407/374 IPC. The next date of hearing is January 8, 2019.
