BSF rescues five after boat sinks in Brahmaputra in Dhubri district

GUWAHATI, July 23: The BSF said it rescued five persons, including two children, when their boat capsized in the Brahmaputra river in Dhubri district near the Indo-Bangladesh border.

The five were going from one village to another in the district in a country boat when it overturned near the sandbar of Mahamaya.

Noticing the incident, the BSF personnel on duty at the Mahamaya 'char' (sandbar) rushed to them on speed boat and rescued all the five, a statement from the border guard said. - PTI
