Brisk preparations on for Ali Aye Ligang

GAURIPUR, Feb 8 - Under the auspices of the TET teachers from the Missing community working in Dhubri, Ali Aye Ligang, the biggest festival of the community, will be celebrated here with a day-long programme on February 20 next.

For this purpose, a celebration committee has been constituted with Sidananda Pegu, Daniel Patir, Deba Kumar Pegu and Umananda Pegu as president, secretary, cultural secretary and editor respectively.

The day-long programme to be held in the Children Park here will include cleanliness drive, traditional rituals like sowing of seeds of Ahu paddy and prayer to the Almighty, followed by �Gumrah� dance, song competition, etc.

The open meeting to be held in the afternoon will be addressed by a number of invited guests and they will deliver speeches on the festival of the community.

The souvenir Ligang-2019 will also be released on the occasion. The models of the Chang Ghar called �Murong-Ukum� and traditional storage of Aapang will also be exhibited on the occasion.
