MANGALDAI, Jan 6 � Manash Das registered a win over spirited Amit Das 21-16, 14-21, 21-19 to emerge champion in the senior boy�s category of the four-day Darrang District Prize Money tournament which ended yesterday at the Gopinath Bordoloi Indoor Stadium. In the final of the girl�s open category, Chinmoyee Medhi beat Sweta Baruah.
The tournament organized by Mangaldai Club, Bhargab Mani Kashyap clinched double crown winning the U-15 and U-13 boys categories. In the U-15 final, Bhargab defeated Madhurya Mani Deka in straight sets 21-19, 21-7 and in the U-13 final he defeated Dikraj Kalita.
In the prize distribution ceremony, Ramen Deka, MP, Mangaldai, Pradip Kr Bhagawati , ADC, Darrang , Dr Arbinda Deka, senior radiologist and Rup Kishore Handique, ASP , Darrang (B) gave the prizes to the winners.
