ITANAGAR, Aug 7 - Lok Sabha MP from Arunachal East constituency Ninong Ering has pleaded the Centre to grant autonomous council status to the three eastern Arunachal districts of Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) under the 6th Schedule of the Constitution.

Raising the issue during the Zero Hour discussion in the Lower House of Parliament on Monday, Ering said, Granting autonomous council status to the three districts of Tirap, Changlang and Longding under the 6th Schedule of the Constitution will result in better administration and bring the required autonomy and decentralisation in decision-making processes. The Congress MP also urged that the ongoing Naga talks should not infringe on the territorial integrity of Arunachal Pradesh.
