MELBOURNE, Dec 28 (IANS): Australia were 179 for eight in their second innings and stretched their lead to 230 runs at stumps against India on the third day of the first cricket Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) here Wednesday.
Mike Hussey was batting on 79 and James Pattinson three at close of play. Earlier in the day, India were bowled out for 282 in the first innings in reply to Australia's 333.
