Man with Bangladeshi currency nabbed by BSF, 8,287 Yaba tablets seized in Karimganj

Silchar, June 11: Based on specific inputs, a special operation was planned by the BSF Intelligence team of 7 Battalion BSF of Mizoram and Cachar Frontier along with Assam Police conducted a search operation on Thursday in the residence of Hakir Ali, a residence of Lafasail village close to the Indo-Bangla international border in Karimganj district and seized 8,287 number of suspected Yaba tablets contained in 36 black packets and six blue packets.


A release issued to the media by the BSF on Friday informed that the market price of the recovered tablets is estimated to be worth Rs 41, 43,500. Also cash Bangladeshi taka worth 13,570 were seized and the Indian national Hakir Ali was apprehended. The seized tablets and the arrested person were handed over to Karimganj police for further investigation, the release said.
