Heroin seized, two held at Bokajan

Diphu, Sept 20: Acting on a tip off around 412 grams of heroin was seized by Karbi Anglong police from a Bolero vehicle bearing registration No MN-01AK/4789 at Laharijan Police Patrolling point (PPP) during the Naka checking last night 11pm. The search was led by Lutfur Rahman, SI and staff of Laharijan PPP.


According to reports the vehicle was coming from Manipur towards Guwahati. During the thorough search of the Bolero vehicle 30 numbers of soap boxes containing 412 grms of contraband heroin were recovered from the both backlight assembly.


In this connection two persons namely Amzad Ali (37) son of Jailabuddin, and Syed Anish Khan (38) son of Kamir Shah were apprehended. The duo drug paddlers were residents of Thoubal district of Manipur. According to sources, the market value of the heroin is expected to be Rs 3.5 crores.


Presently the drugs were seized under the physical supervision of John Das, SDPO Bokajan, in support of SIs Charan Mohan Chetia and Hirak Jyoti Das respectively.
