Former cricketer, member of Assam Ranji squad Subir Dutta Roy passes away

Silchar, May 28: Former cricketer and member of Assam Ranji squad Subir Dutta passed away on Friday evening . He was 65.

Sources informed that he was the younger brother of  Sujoy Dutta Roy, vice president of  District Sports Association(DSA)  Silchar. Babul Hore, president DSA Silchar mourned the demise of the ex-cricketer and informed that he was a member of the Assam  Ranji Trophy squad in the 1980s and was a formidable cricketer for the Silchar district team during that phase. He was also the selector of the Under-15 team. Bijendra Prasad Singh, general secretary of the sports association mourned the demise of the former player and informed that the association will keep its flag at half mast on Saturday as a mark of tribute to the former player.

 Members of Barak Upotyaka Krira Sangbadik Sanstha BUKSS also mourned the demise of the former cricketer.
