CM to attend Durga Puja celebrations in Silchar

Silchar, Oct 11: In his last visit  back in September this year, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarmahad said that he would come again to Silchar on Maha Saptami. Accordingly, the Chief Minister will be in Silchar on Tuesday for a day-long visit to take part in the Durga Puja celebration and also take stock of various developmental works.

According to sources in the office of the DDIPR Barak Valley region, after reaching Silchar, the Chief Minister will visit Kachakanti Mandir at Udharbondh following which he will attend a programme at the National Institute of Technology Silchar. Sources in the district administration informed that the Chief Minister will meet officials of the Department of Revenues and other officials of the District Administration and also take stock of the integrated Cachar Deputy Commissioners Office here and bridge over river Barak at Annapurna Ghat or Madhura Ghat. Later in the day, the Chief Minister will also visit the residences of Minister of Forest and Environment Parimal Suklabaidya at Irongmara and veteran RSS leader Bimal Nath Choudhury at Tarapur.


Further, the Chief Minister will also take part in Durga Puja programmes across Silchar throughout the day. He will head back to Guwahati on Wednesday, sources said.
