Renault launches KWID MY 22 at 4.49 lakhs, introduces KIGER MY 22 at 5.84 lakhs

Guwahati, April 23: Renault India has added a climber variant and SUV to its collection with the all-new KWID MY 22 and the KIGER MY22 

The European brand of car has launched the all-new KWID MY22 with advanced features, at a starting price of INR 4.49 Lakhs while the Renault KIGER MY22 was recently introduced at a starting price of ₹5.84 lakh.

The new RXL(O) variant will be available in both 1.0L MT and 0.8L powertrains with manual and automatic transmission options. The new RXL(O) variant includes features to enhance the style and economy quotient.

The KWID MY22 Climber range will offer customers an array of new colour options - Metal Mustard and Ice cool White with Black roof in Dual Tone, along with new dual tone flex wheels.

Among other features, Renault KWID includes several active and passive safety features like dual front Airbags, ABS and EBD, Seat Belt Reminder, Overspeed Alert, Reverse Parking Sensors and Driver side Pyro & Pre-tensioner with Load Limiter which are standard across all variants. Elevating the safety quotient of the vehicle, the new MY22 range comes equipped with Seat belt Pyrotech and load limiter as a standard feature.

It also offers an 8 inch touchscreen Media NAV Evolution with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Video Playback and Voice Recognition – which helps the driver control everything hands-free, fast and easy. The Silver Streak LED DRLs create a striking impression and give the car a premium appeal.

In terms of performance, the 0.8-litre engine returns a claimed 22.25 kmpl as per ARAI testing certification.


Renault KIGER MY22

On the other hand, Renault KIGER MY22 was recently introduced by the French carmaker Renault introduced, with advanced features, at a starting price of ₹5.84 lakh.

Available in two engine options-- 1.0L energy engine in MT & EASY-R AMT transmissions and 1.0L Turbo in MT and X-TRONIC CVT transmissions-- the Kiger MY22 will offer PM2.5 advanced atmospheric filter as a standard feature across the range, ensuring good air quality inside the cabin, according to a statement.

The interiors, featuring a new red fade dashboard accent and quilted emboss seat upholstery adorned with red stitch have been enhanced with features like cruise control and wireless smartphone charger along with a new colour option - metal mustard with mystery black roof in Dual Tone.

The Kiger MY22 Turbo range will feature new tailgate chrome insert, front skid plate, turbo door decals along with 40.64 cm diamond cut alloy wheels with red wheel caps, making the exteriors more sporty.

The Kiger RXT(O) variant, launched last year as part of Renault's 10th anniversary celebrations in India, will be offered in 1.0L Turbo in MT & X-TRONIC CVT transmission as well at an attractive price point.

The Renault KIGER has been awarded with the 4-Star Safety Rating for adult occupant safety by Global NCAP. For driver and front passenger safety, the Renault KIGER comes equipped with four airbags – front and side along with seatbelts with pre-tensioner and load-limiter (for driver occupant). It also hosts a range of safety features such as ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors, which ensure safety while driving on the road. Additionally, KIGER also features an impact sensing door unlock, speed sensing door lock, 60/40 split rear row seat with adjustable headrests and ISOFIX anchorage for child seat.

Renault KIGER was ranked 2 in the J.D. Power 2021 India Initial Quality Study (IQS) in the Compact SUV Segment.

Powered by a world-class turbocharged 1.0L petrol engine, the KIGER claims to offer fuel efficiency of 20.5 kmpl.
