Anti-ragging panel formed

GUWAHATI, Dec 29 � In accordance with a Supreme Court order, an eleven-member district-level anti-ragging committee, with the DC, Kamrup (Metro) as chairman and the ADC (Education) as member secretary, has been formed.

The committee, comprising members of NGOs and student bodies, besides journalists, will take stock of the state of preparedness of each institution and their compliance with the policies and direction of guidelines of the appropriate bodies to curb the menace of ragging.
