Akhil Gogoi files FIR

GUWAHATI, Jan 12 � Peasant leader Akhil Gogoi today lodged a First Information Report (FIR) with the Chandmari police station alleging that a group of miscreants unleashed a reign of terror at the office of the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity (KMSS) located in Nizarapar area in the wee hours today.

Gogoi, who was staying at the office, alleged that the miscreants came there with the intention to cause harm to him.

Gogoi, in the FIR, alleged that one of the �miscreants� identified himself as a police official and asked him to come out. But he (Gogoi) refused to comply with the diktat of the police official. He also claimed that there is a threat to his life.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), City, PC Saloi said that a team of police went to check security at Gogoi�s house but nothing as alleged by the peasant leader came to their notice. �We have, however, registered a case in this connection and investigation is on,� the SSP stated.
