GUWAHATI, Oct 1 - The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has criticised former AASU leaders Sankar Prasad Roy and Tapan Kumar Gogoi for joining the BJP.

In a statement, the AIUDF said that the AASU had from its inception fought against illegal immigrants. However, now the senior AASU leaders have joined a political party which indirectly supports illegal immigrants, it said.

Meanwhile, reacting to media reports about senior Congress leader and former Bihar Governor Devanand Konwars willingness to join the AIUDF, the party said it would welcome Konwar.

We have noticed media reports about Konwars willingness to join our party. We will be happy to welcome Konwar into our party, AIUDF chief and Lok Sabha MP Badruddin Ajmal tweeted.
