MANGALDAI, Jan 16 - The colony of official residences of even the executive magistrates at the headquarters of Darrang district is not safe enough as the official residence of Kalpana Deka, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Darrang, was looted by miscreants on Sunday night. She along with her family members went to her native place to celebrate Bhogali Bihu.
Fortunately, a night patrolling police team caught one miscreant along with some stolen goods and subsequently held two other members of the gang from Ward Number-2, adjacent to the official colony. Later, the police recovered one inverter, one movie camera, four LPG cylinders, one harmonium and a bank passbook from their possession.
