3 Assam Rifles men hurt in IED blast

IMPHAL, April 20 - Three Assam Rifles personnel were reportedly injured when a powerful bomb believed to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded at Moreh, a border town in Manipur�s Chandel district on Wednesday, sources said.

Reports said the explosion took place close to the Indo-Myanmar gate number 1 located near the post of 11 Assam Rifles at T Minou village under Moreh police station around 7.10 am.

The injured Assam Rifles personnel were later taken to a health centre in Imphal for treatment, the source added. Assam Rifles sources suspect hands of some underground outfit behind the explosion.

However, no armed group operating in the State has so far claimed responsibility for the explosion.
