250 AGP workers join BJP at Barbhag

NALBARI, Sept 12 - As many as 250 AGP workers and leaders of Barbhag area joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in a meeting held in Arangamou Durga Mandir premises in Nalbari district on Thursday.

All the seven anchalik committee of the AGP under Barbhag Revenue Circle had resigned from the party in support of the former AGP leader, Pulakesh Baruah, who recently joined the BJP.

The meeting, presided over by Pradip Deka, was addressed by Ashok Kumar Sarma, president of Nalbari BJP unit and Pulakesh Baruah, a ticket aspirant from the Barkshetri constituency, among others.

Addressing the gathering, Baruah said that the people are supporting the BJP to free themselves from the misrule of the Congress. He is confident that the BJP will form the Government in the State in 2016 Assembly election.
