Amit Shah to visit poll-bound Assam on Mar 22, to address series of rallies

Udalguri, March 20: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is going to address a series of election rallies in Assam on March 22.

According to the information issued by Vijay Kumar Gupta, convener of senior leaders tour management committee of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shah will address an election related public meeting at the Nalbari playground in Udalguri town at 2.30 pm for Gobinda Chandra Basumatary, UPPL candidate for Udalguri LAC, Biswajit Daimary of BJP contesting from Panery LAC, Jitu Kishan of BJP contesting from Mazbat LAC and Ashok Singhal of BJP contesting from Dhekiajuli LAC.

Earlier to this, Shah will attend his first public meeting of the day at 11.30 am at Silapathar Residency HS school playground for Bhuban Pegu, the BJP candidate for Jonai LAC followed by another public meeting at Phulani playground in Majuli for Chief Minister and BJP candidate for Majuli LAC.

After the day's hectic campaigning, Shah will address BJP workers' meet at the Madhavdeb Kalakshetra at Panjabari in Guwahati and fly to New Delhi in the evening.

Meanwhile, the BJP and UPPL workers and supporters have started preparations of the venue at Nalbari playground to accomodate maximum number of people, informed Ajay Kumar Hazarika, programme in charge for Udalguri public meeting.
