The Dibrugarh branch of the All Assam Nurses Association has set a five-day deadline for the medical authorities to respond to the demands of the nurses, failing which, the body has threatened to launch stir. Nurses have demanded withdrawal of the order (Ptt/SN/JMC/3320, dated 5th June, 2010) with immediate effect. Other demands include filling up of the 42 vacant posts and creation of more new posts as per the number of patients in AMCH. Hospitalised patients at AMCH vary from 900 to 1300, according to the nurses.
