AMC Professor brings laurels to NE

DERGAON, April 23 - A professor of Assam Medical College (AMC), Dibrugarh made the entire North East proud. According to information, Dr Sanjeeb Kakati of the Department of Medicine has been elected as a member of an Indo-US Joint Research Project on diabetes.

As a member of the project, he delivered a lecture on diabetes at the National Institute of Health at Washington DC, USA recently. Dr Kakati was nominated by the Government of India, (being the first and only physician from North East) along with four other physicians from different parts of the country. Dr Kakati is one of the pioneers in the field of research in diabetes and rheumatology. He has guided a number of research projects in his area of expertise.

Born in Jivan Phukan Nagar, Dibrugarh he started his schooling at Barbari LP School, Dibrugarh and then at Dibrugarh Govt HS School and DHSK College. Finally he completed his MBBS and MD (Medicine) from AMC Dibrugah.
