GUWAHATI, Sept 10 - The Assam Mountaineering Association (AMA) organised a mountaineering expedition to an unnamed peak (6111 Mtrs/20166 feet) in Himachal Pradesh near Baralacha Pass.
The 16-member team, including two women, was led by experienced mountaineer Upen Chakraborty. Altogether seven members of the team reached the summit�at around 1.30 pm on September 9 and unfurled the Tricolour and AMA flags.
The sumitters are: Upen Chakraborty, Bhaskar Baruah, Shekhar Bordoloi, Ratan Basumatary, Kaushik Das, Dhrubajyoti Hazarika and Krishna Basumatary, informed AMA secretary Manash Barooah in a release.
