All Assam Nagara Naam Sangha session on April 8

BAIHATA CHARIALI, April 4 - The 34th annual session of All Assam Nagara Naam Sangha will be organised at Puthimari Barowari Durga Puja auditorium on April 8 with a daylong programme.

The programme of the day will begin with the hoisting of its flag by Ram Charan Bharali, president of the Sangha, followed by smriti tarpan by Sangha advisor Dwijendra Nath Pathak, former presidents Achyut Deka and Rupendra Nath Deka.

A tree plantation programme to be held at 9.30 am on that day, which will be initiated by social worker Shahidul Islam and former president of Baihata Chariali Sahitya Sabha Tofik Choudhury. At around 10 am, president of Baihata Chariali Sahitya Sabha Bhabesh Deka will inaugurate �Dihanam� of women.

At 10.30 am, a delegates� and subject selection meeting will be inaugurated by Kamala Kanta Kalita, secretary of Puhimari Barowari Durga Puja Committee. At 2 pm, office secretary of AASU Dharmeswar Das will inaugurate the open meeting where MLA of Kamalpur Satyabrat Kalita will grace the occasion as the chief guest, principal of Puthimari College Nityananda Kalita as appointed speaker and Ashok Sarma and Suman Haripriya, MLAs of Nalbari and Hajo, respectively. Other dignitaries like Dhiren Sarma, Dr Manima Bhuyan, Pranab Kumar Sarma and Dilip Das will also participate in the programme as invited guests.

At 6 pm, MLA of Rangiya Bhabesh Kalita will inaugurate the nagara naam. The organising committee of the Sangha has appealed to the locals to extend their cooperation to make the day a success.
