AKRSU calls bandh over Choutara clashes

KOKRAJHAR, Sept 3 � The All Koach Rajbangshi Students� Union (AKRSU) has given a 36-hour Assam bandh from 5 am of September 4 in protest against the Choutara clashes and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the incident.

Meanwhile, a mob today damaged two shops and office of the AKRSU at Chitila Bazar area under Fakiragram Police Station in Kokrajhar district. The mob also assaulted two persons and both have been hospitalised for treatment. Police arrested a few persons in this connection.

Tension still prevailing in the district. The district administration has appealed all the people of Kokrajhar to maintain peace and tranquillity.
