DHEMAJI, March 12 - People from different organisations led by Dhemaji district Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) and its allies staged a sit-in demonstration at Dhemaji Tiniali on Wednesday and demanded immediate release of Akhil Gogoi and other leaders.
Several members of KMSS and its students� wing Chatra Mukti Sangram Samiti (CMSS) and Nari Mukti Sangram Samiti (NMSS) took part in the protest demonstration, and shouted slogans demanding proper medical treatment of the peasant leader.
Akhil Gogoi was arrested from a house in Jorhat on December 12 evening.
Earlier too, KMSS and Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad organised rallies at Dhemaji and demanded immediate release of Akhil Gogoi and other leaders involved in the anti-CAA movement.
