GUWAHATI, Aug 4 � Team Anna's decision to float a political party has been opposed by Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity (KMSS) leader and India Against Corruption's core committee member Akhil Gogoi.
A press statement from KMSS today said that Akhil Gogoi has conveyed his discontent over the issue through e-mail to Anna Hazare and other core committee members of IAC and has asked team Anna to review the decision.
"In his letter, Akhil Gogoi has said that IAC role is to build a strong public movement against corruption and not to fight elections. Earlier also he opposed the proposal to form a political party in a core committee meeting held on April 22,' the statement said.
It may be mentioned that Akhil Gogoi is the only IAC core committee member representing North East.
