JORHAT, Dec 30 - Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi was hospitalised at the Kushal Konwar District Civil Hospital in Golaghat after he complained of suffering from high fever and vomiting since early morning. Superintendent of the hospital Dr Kalpana Deka told The Assam Tribune that all necessary treatment was being provided to Akhil Gogoi. She said that Akhil was suffering from fever.
Stating that the overall health condition of Akhil was found to be stable, Dr Deka said medical investigation on the peasant leader was on with several blood and urine tests being conducted, the results of which were still awaited.
The Superintendent further said that Akhil, who was admitted to a paying cabin of the hospital, was attended to by a medicine specialist. Pranjal Gogoi, an advocate of Golaghat, who represents Akhil in his legal matters, told this Correspondent that the KMSS leader had arrived at his Golaghat residence late last night from Guwahati with a stopover at his orchid farm near Kaziranga National Park.
It may be mentioned that on September 13 last, Akhil was arrested from Golaghat town.
