GUWAHATI, June 25 � The Gauhati High Court today granted bail to Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi and five of his companions who were arrested by the City Police on June 16, while they were taking part in a fast demanding removal of Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) Chairman Rakesh Paul and a total reformation in the APSC in front of the Khanapara office of the Commission.
The court of Justice Paran Phukan granted bail to Akhil Gogoi and his companions, who include Kamal Kumar Medhi, Mukut Deka, Prithviraj Doley, Dipak Kalita and Rubul Das. They are expected to be released tomorrow, said a KMSS press release here.
