GUWAHATI, June 26 - The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) today condemned the diversion of the Oil India Limited (OIL)�s CSR fund for construction of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel�s statue in Gujarat.
In a statement issued here, the youth body said with its headquarters in Duliajan, the CSR fund should be spent on the development of the State which is grappling with a number of problems.
�The Union government�s instruction to spend Rs 25 crore from the CSR fund for the construction of statue in Gujarat is unfortunate when Assam is struggling with the issues like unemployment and lack of infrastructure among others. The fund can be used for the repair of dilapidated roads in the districts where crude oil is produced,� the statement added.
