GUWAHATI, March 20 - The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba-Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) today staged a demonstration at Dighalipukhuripar in protest against the Assam Police�s alleged failure to provide security to the lives and property of the people as testified to by the spurt in various crimes in the city.
The AJYCP alleged that the police had failed in its duty because of growing political interference in its functioning as also the criminal-police-politician nexus.
�It is time the police took into confidence the common people and worked in coordination with the citizens,� it said.
