TINSUKIA, June 28 - The Tinsukia district committee of the AJYCP staged a dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner�s office complex here today in protest against the random felling of trees in the district.
The committee alleged that the Forest department had not paid any interest in checking the deforestation of almost all the reserve forests in the district. They alleged that some forest lands have been transformed into tea gardens under the Digboi Forest Division.
