AJYCP president resigns

By Staff Correspondent

JORHAT, Dec 7 - AJYCP president Putul Dutta has tendered his resignation from the post of president of the organisation.

In a letter written by Dutta, a few days back to Jyotirmoy Kalita, chief adviser of the advisory board of the central committee of the students body, the two-time president (Dutta) has requested the body to relieve him from the presidents post. Jorhat-based Dutta, who apart from occupying the presidents post of State AJYCP twice and also as vice-president and chief adviser, had cited health and family issues for seeking to step down from the post.

The advisory board is yet to take a decision. A local AJYCPleader here hinted that Dutta, who had joined the organisation over three decades ago and occupied the posts of district president and general secretary several times, may join a political party with an eye on 2021 Assembly polls.
