GUWAHATI, April 22 The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam Pradesh, on Wednesday accused AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal of trying to create hurdles in the ongoing NRC update process by creating confusion amongst the minorities.

The minority morcha of the party alleged that Ajmal has always been patronising the illegal infiltrators from Bangladesh, and that neither Ajmal nor the Congress party wants the NRC to be updated as it would ensure freedom and security for the minorities.

A recent statement made by Ajmal that the names of 40 lakh Muslims will be left out of the NRC process once again proves Ajmals pro-Bangladeshi stand. All steps have been taken to ensure that the name of no Indian citizen is left out of the NRC, said Syed Muminul Aowal, president of the minority morcha, adding that no names of foreigners would be included in the NRC and for that every measure has been taken.
