Ajmal hints at supporting NPP

By STAFF CORRESPONDENT

SILCHAR, April 1 - In an interesting twist to the equations for the battle for ballots in the Silchar parliamentary seat, AIUDF supremo and sitting MP from Dhubri Badruddin Ajmal has said that if the National Peoples Party (NPP) approaches for support to its Silchar candidate, he would think on the matter.

Addressing mediapersons at Banskandi in Cachar district on his way to Karimganj to campaign for party candidate and sitting MP Radhe Shyam Biswas, Ajmal said, If the NPP high command approaches AIUDF with a plea to support Nazia Yasmin Mazumdar, the party candidate from Silchar, he would think on the matter. There has been no request made in this regard so far. This response has come following Nazias wish to seek AIUDFs support in the election.

Ajmal was quick to add that AIUDFs vision is to check BJPs chariot, and hence, the party has not fielded candidates in 11 seats across the State, including Silchar.

Meanwhile, he brushed aside allegations of extending support to Congress and claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not come back to power because people of the nation have understood the lies he has dished out during the last five years.
