Aizawl police stations go hi-tech

By CORRESPONDENT

AIZAWL, Aug 16 - Tracking a complaint in any of the four police stations in the Mizoram capital is now just a click away with the launching of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System (CCTNS).

LH Shanliana, IGP (Intelligence, Law and Order), said in a press conference today that the pilot phase for the citizen portal was declared on August 15 to cater to citizens within the jurisdiction of the four police stations in Aizawl city Aizawl, Kulikawn, Bawngkawn and Vaivakawn.

The CCTNS is being implemented across the State in a phased manner to serve as a digital database of crimes and criminal records.

As part of the CCTNS, the complainant will now be given the FIR number and a computer-generated receipt after a formal complaint is lodged. The complainant can then log on to the citizen portal to track the status of his or her case once the case details are uploaded on the database.
