GUWAHATI, Sept 9 - Accusing the BJP-led NDA regime of failing to control the skyrocketing prices of fuel, the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has decided to extend support to the Bharat Bandh called by the Congress tomorrow.
The kind of spurt in fuel prices which we are witnessing these days is unprecedented. This has never happened before in India. The skyrocketing prices of petrol, diesel and LPG have hurt the common people and made their lives miserable. The BJP came to power in Delhi and Dispur promising achche din but the party has now left the masses destitute, said AIUDF general secretary Aminul Islam.
Petrol prices will soon touch Rs 100 per litre. The price of an LPG cylinder has already crossed Rs 900. The rising fuel prices have had a cascading effect on the prices of essential commodities. The BJP has proved that it works only for the interests of the corporates and not for the common people. So we are extending our full support to the Bharat Bandh called by the Congress on September 10.
The AIUDF has directed all party workers to protest against the Government and its failure to address the issue of rising prices of petroleum products.
