SILCHAR, Jan 18 - AIUDF supremo Badaruddin Ajmal has made it clear that his party will extend total support to the proposed move by the All Assam Students� Union (AASU) to form a regional political party.
Talking to reporters during his visit to Barak Valley, Ajmal said that his party is ready for any steps to oust the BJP from power.
�The BJP led government at the Centre and also in the State has hit the people very hard with its pro-corporate policies. Hence, it is imperative that efforts must be taken to dethrone the party for which the AIUDF shall support all initiatives and we welcome the call given by the AASU leadership to form a political party,� Ajmal maintained.
It may be recalled that former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had also expressed that if the students body goes ahead with the move to form a regional party, Congress shall stand with them.
